Atlanta Market Jan. 2022 Recap

<div dir="ltr"> </div>  <div> Hi, Lovelies! Can you believe we're over a month into the New Year? Time has already flown by, and Atlanta Market has come and gone. Sadly, I wasn't able to make it to Market this year due to the rise in COVID-19 cases. :( And I'm sure some of you were also in the same boat. BUT, I wanted to give you a glimpse from the eyes of one important woman -- Sue Todd, Studio M's Co-Founder and Director of Product Management.  To kick off our conversation, the first question I have is how did the show go?? "The show went better than expected since we weren't sure how many people would attend. But we ended up having a good buyer turnout, and people were ready to shop and explore. It was also amazing to have our Sales team there since they are very energetic and happy to connect in person. But connecting with some of our artists was the icing on the cake."  <img src="/webpageIMages/images/wysiwyg/blog/Canva-Design-DAE4FxMkX84.png" alt="Canva Design DAE4FxMkX84" width="500" loading="lazy" style="width: 500px; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; display: block;"> How was seeing some of the artists we work with in person?  "I wanted to still meet one-on-one with artists but in a COVID-friendly way. Our team set up a table in a nook of our showroom to add separation from the shopping madness and give some privacy while having meetings. It was great to discuss new possibilities to put their art on newer products like Floor Flair. After seeing their portfolios, it feels good to head back to St. Louis with a great chunk of amazing art selections." What inspires you the most at Market?  "I'm constantly being inspired by artists and the amazing displays that were built by our team. Tammy Hickel, our Executive Vice President of Sales, does a spectacular job at designing our showroom. She places products in such eye-catching ways that make the designs come to life. Having meetings with artists is always inspiring and helps me determine what our next release will look like. Sometimes all it takes is one image to imagine it as a full collection."  <img src="https://www.studio-m.com/content/media/wysiwyg/blog/Canva-Design-DAE4F9S9F_E.png" alt="Canva Design DAE4F9S9F_E" width="500" loading="lazy" style="width: 500px; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; display: block;"> I know we had to make the difficult decision to cancel the artist Sip and See gathering. Can you explain a bit? "There were a lot of factors that weighed in our decision to cancel our event. We usually have coffee and pastries together, but we wanted to avoid unmasking. We also knew there would be a lot of people in one area for a long time, so we decided that the event didn't align with our desires to be safe. We look forward to the day that we go back to our normal way of doing things, but for now keeping everyone healthy is our top priority."   This was the first time artists could see Floor Flair in person at a show since its debut in 2025. What kind of feedback did you get from artists? "They were super excited how the vinyl rugs turned out from the quality of printing to the vibrant colors. They also loved that each vinyl rug is printed in the USA -- and so do we! :) It also was fun discussing the possibilities where their Floor Flair designs could be laid out inside the home and in an outdoor, protective area like a covered porch. Being able to introduce our new Silhouette Shades collection by Sharyn Sowell to artists was also exciting." <img src="https://www.studio-m.com/content/media/wysiwyg/blog/Canva-Design-DAE4F_tkTc4.png" alt="Canva Design DAE4F_tkTc4" width="500" loading="lazy" style="width: 500px; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; display: block;"> What is it like for an artist to see our showroom and explore Market? What can they gain from attending?  "Artists are so inspired when they go to Market. They can picture their designs on a wide range of products and also discover current trends. Artists can also get a sense of what a company is looking for and the types of products they sell. This is a great time to network and put your name out there." I know I really missed being at Market and connecting with artists like you in person. I can't wait for the day when we can freely gather together without anything holding us back.  Remember, we always love to see what you’re working on.
